Our Story
The owners of Timber House Lodge have been lifelong friends, sharing a deep love for the Lake Almanor area since childhood. Summers were spent boating, fishing, and skiing, while winters brought snowmobiling adventures. Among their fondest memories are the dinners they shared at the original Timber House Restaurant during the 1980s. Saddened by the building’s state of disrepair after years of abandonment, they decided to purchase the iconic property in 2020.
With a shared vision, they completely remodeled and renovated the property, carefully preserving the integrity and charm of the original structure. The hotel rooms were taken down to the studs and thoughtfully rebuilt, with each room featuring a unique theme. Inspired by a trip to Oklahoma, the wives had a blast designing the distinct decor, adding a playful and personal touch to every space.
Today, the Timber House Lodge is a shining gem in this friendly, close-knit mountain community. Restored to its former glory, it stands as a symbol of cherished memories and new beginnings in the heart of Lake Almanor.
